Key tasks of architect Design and
planning: Create concept ideas and develop blueprints or digital models for either project renovation or a new construction project, while considering the needs of the client, the practical limitations of the site, the budget, and its potential impact on the environment.
Technical competence: Apply their preparation in building code, zoning laws, materials, and construction techniques to ensure the constructability and compliance of the project.
Project management: Manage the project from start to finish by bringing together and coordinating contributions from other professionals such as the contractor, a structural engineer, and a surveyor.
Client Contact: Engage and consult with the client to fully understand their vision, while continuously updating them on the progress of the design and construction up to completion.
Problem solving: Adapt the plans of the project to take into account the practicalities of construction while respecting the funding, the environment, or unexpected problems.
Contract administration: Coordinate the administrative side of the job such as putting the job out to tender and administering the contract between the client and the contractor.
Role in the construction process Initial stage: Meet with a client, establish the basis of design, and conduct site observations.
Requirement to become an architect
- Completing an advanced degree education in architecture.
- It is necessary to gain professional experience by doing internship.
- The architect must have a license to practice.
